Two real estate experts and renovation pros, Drew and Jonathan Scott are back on their hit show Property Brothers for its third season. In episode 6, titled “Picturing the Possibilities,” the duo meets up with a couple looking to purchase their first home together. The couple, Cam and Kaatje, are eager to put their own personal touch on their new space but they also value the history and charm of older homes.
Drew and Jonathan start off by showing Cam and Kaatje a few fixer-upper homes in their desired neighborhood. After talking through the couple’s priorities and wish list, the brothers help them see the potential in each property. Cam and Kaatje are excited to put their own spin on whichever one they choose, but deciding on the right one is proving to be a challenge.
In the end, the couple decides on a 1930s-era bungalow that needs plenty of work. With Drew’s help securing financing, they have enough to cover the purchase and the renovations. The couple’s next step is to work with Jonathan and his team of designers to transform their new home.
Cam and Kaatje have very specific design preferences, but also want to preserve some of the character of the original home. Jonathan works with them to create a design plan that incorporates both. The couple is excited about the finished product, but run into some obstacles during the renovation process.
As the renovation progresses, Jonathan and his team need to problem solve on a few unexpected issues that they encounter while trying to preserve some of the home’s original features. They also encounter a set of structural issues that they need to solve in order to make sure the house is safe and livable for Cam and Kaatje.
Through it all, Drew and Jonathan remain optimistic and supportive of the couple. They help them navigate each hurdle and ultimately, deliver a gorgeous home that fully captures Cam and Kaatje’s unique sensibilities. The couple is thrilled with their new space, and with the confidence they’ve gained from the process of renovating and making their house a home.
