Morioka Moriko is a 30-year-old NEET who quits her job and becomes obsessed with playing an MMORPG game called "Fruits de Mer." In episode 9 of season 1, "I Call That Feeling Marble," Moriko finds herself in an awkward position when Koiwai, her former colleague, visits her apartment and discovers her secret gaming addiction. Koiwai becomes convinced that Moriko is depressed and offers to take her out for dinner to get her mind off things.
Meanwhile, in the game, Moriko's character Lily has been spending a lot of time with a character named Pokotarou. They have become close friends and have even been sending each other gifts. One day, Pokotarou asks Lily to participate in a new event in the game called "Marble." Marble is a game of balance, where players must stack marbles on top of each other without them falling over. The player who stacks the most marbles wins a prize.
Lily agrees to participate and spends the day practicing for the event. She is determined to win the prize, which is a rare and valuable item in the game. However, as the event begins, Lily starts to feel nervous and begins to doubt her abilities. She starts to feel like she is going to fail and disappoint Pokotarou.
Back in the real world, Moriko is having a great time with Koiwai. She enjoys the food and the conversation, but deep down, she is still worried about her gaming addiction. She starts to wonder if she is wasting her life and if she should be doing something more productive with her time.
As Lily continues to play Marble, she starts to relax and finds that she is actually really good at the game. She starts to enjoy herself and forgets about her worries. She stacks more and more marbles, and before she knows it, she is in the lead.
Just as Lily is about to win the game, her character is suddenly attacked by a group of enemies. Lily is caught off guard and loses her balance, causing all of her marbles to fall over. She loses the game and the prize.
Back in the real world, Moriko receives a message from Pokotarou, thanking her for participating in the game with him. He tells her that he had a great time and that he values their friendship. Moriko realizes that she has been so caught up in her own worries that she had forgotten that gaming can be a fun and social activity. She starts to feel better about her addiction and decides to continue playing the game.
As the episode comes to an end, Moriko and Koiwai return to her apartment. Moriko is still feeling down about losing the game, but Koiwai tells her that she should be proud of herself for stepping out of her comfort zone and participating in the event. He tells her that life is all about taking risks and having fun, and that if she keeps that in mind, she will be just fine. The episode ends with Moriko smiling and feeling a renewed sense of confidence and purpose.
