Ep 5. Altum Somnum

In the fifth episode of the first season of Reverie, titled "Altum Somnum," Mara is asked to help a young woman, Paige (played by guest star Melissa Roxburgh), who has been comatose for years. Paige was a champion swimmer before a tragic accident left her in a vegetative state, and her parents have turned to Reverie in hopes that she can be brought back into consciousness.

Mara's team, including Paul, Chris, and Alexis, get to work creating a customized Reverie experience for Paige. They recreate the swim team's pool and Paige's favorite beach, along with her parents' house and her high school. Mara herself enters Reverie as a guide for Paige, using her own memories of swimming to help Paige reconnect with her sense of self and her past achievements.

As the session progresses, Paige becomes more and more alert and responsive within Reverie. However, Mara starts to notice strange anomalies in the simulation, such as a mysterious figure watching them from afar and unexplained changes in the environment. She also starts to feel a deep sense of unease, as if something is trying to take control of the dream.

Outside of Reverie, Mara's personal life is also in turmoil. Her ex-boyfriend Ray (played by guest star Sendhil Ramamurthy) reappears, professing his love for Mara and begging her to give him another chance. Mara is torn between her residual feelings for Ray and her growing attraction to Paul, who is starting to reciprocate her feelings.

As the session with Paige comes to a close, Mara makes a shocking discovery about the nature of the dream they've been inhabiting. It's a race against time to save Paige and prevent whatever is lurking within Reverie from taking over. Mara will need all of her skills and intuition to survive this dangerous encounter and keep her team and her clients safe.

"Altum Somnum" is a tense and action-packed episode of Reverie, filled with thrilling twists and turns.
