In the first episode of Rudy Maxa's World season 4, viewers are taken on a culinary adventure through the southernmost island of Japan, Kyushu. The episode starts with Maxa in the city of Fukuoka, a bustling hub with a lively food culture. He visits the Yanagibashi Rengo Ichiba, a popular fish market where he witnesses the auction of the day's catch by the local fishermen. He then explores the vibrant street food scene in Nakasu, where he tries various dishes such as Yakitori, Yatai-style Ramen, and the famous Hakata Motsunabe (hotpot made with beef or pork innards).

Maxa also ventures to the city of Kumamoto, which is home to the famous Kumamoto Castle and a variety of local delicacies. He visits a local farm and learns about the cultivation of organic vegetables, which are used in most of the signature dishes in the region. He also savors the local specialty, Karashi Renkon, which is a lotus root stuffed with mustard and miso.

In the town of Yufuin, Maxa soaks up the tranquil atmosphere of the scenic countryside while trying out the regional specialty, Onsen Tamago (eggs that are boiled in hot springs). He takes a stroll through the picturesque streets lined with traditional Japanese houses and visits local artisans and shops, before heading to a nearby hot springs resort where he feasts on the famous Yufuin Bungo Beef.

Finally, Maxa ends his culinary journey in Kagoshima, an area known for its unique local cuisine. He tries the world-famous Kurobuta Pork (black pork) which is raised locally in Kagoshima and is known for its unbeatable taste. He also visits a traditional Shochu distillery, where he learns the unique process of making the local rice wine and tries some of the aged shochu.

Throughout the episode, Maxa not only explores the delicious food culture of Kyushu but also discovers the local traditions, history and the warm hospitality of the people. The picturesque scenery of the region, the vibrant food scene, and the rich cultural experiences make this episode a must-watch for any travel and food enthusiasts.
