Ep 1. The Cup Runneth Over

Johnny Rose is a wealthy video store magnate and his wife, Moira, is a former soap star. The two live a lavish life with their two adult children, David and Alexis. However, their perfect life comes crashing down when they lose all their money due to a business manager's financial fraud.

With nothing left, the Rose family is forced to relocate to a small town called Schitt's Creek, which Johnny bought as a joke in the past and is now their only remaining asset. Upon arrival, the family is greeted by the town's mayor, Roland Schitt, who is anything but welcoming.

As the family tries to adjust to this new way of life, it becomes clear that they are not prepared for the realities of living in a small town. Their luxurious lifestyle and entitled attitudes are met with disdain from the locals, who make no effort to hide their feelings towards the family.
