Ep 4. Estate Sale

Johnny Rose, the patriarch of the Rose family, has always been a man used to luxury. However, now that he and his family have lost all their money and are living in a motel in the small town of Schitt's Creek, they must adapt to a new way of life. Each episode follows the Rose family as they navigate their new surroundings and try to rebuild their lives.

In season 2 episode 4, entitled "Estate Sale," the Rose family must deal with the aftermath of Moira's late aunt's estate sale. Moira is devastated to learn that all of her belongings, including her precious wigs, were sold off for next to nothing. Meanwhile, Alexis tries to make some extra cash by selling some of her designer clothing, but ends up risking her relationship with her boyfriend.

The episode begins with Moira feeling down in the dumps after learning that her beloved aunt's estate sale was a complete disaster. Apparently, no one wanted any of her belongings, including her autographed celebrity photos and her vast collection of wigs. Moira is so distraught that she refuses to leave her room, which concerns Johnny and the rest of the family.

Alexis, on the other hand, is feeling a bit more optimistic. She recently scored a job at the local veterinary clinic and is excited about making some money to support herself. However, when she realizes that she doesn't have enough cash to buy a ticket to a music festival, she decides to sell some of her designer clothing.

David offers to help her with the sale, but ends up making fun of her for owning expensive clothes in the first place. This leads to an argument between the siblings, and Alexis storms off in a huff.

Meanwhile, Johnny is dealing with some issues of his own. He's been trying to sell some of his old business equipment, but no one seems to be interested. However, when he spots a man outside the motel who is interested in one of his old machines, he's thrilled.

The man, however, turns out to be a bit shady. He tries to offer Johnny a lower price than what they agreed upon, and even offers to buy one of the motel rooms from him. Johnny realizes that he doesn't want to get involved with anyone who is less than trustworthy, and decides to take his chances with the equipment instead.

As the episode progresses, we see Moira struggling to come to terms with her losing all of her belongings. She becomes fixated on one wig in particular, which she remembers wearing to several important events. Johnny tries to comfort her by reminding her that things are just things, but Moira doesn't seem to be buying it.

The episode ends with Alexis apologizing to David for their earlier argument. She admits that she's scared about not having any money, and David reassures her that they'll figure things out together. Meanwhile, Moira discovers that her missing wig was actually hidden away in a box of old toys, and is overjoyed to have at least one item from her collection back.

Overall, "Estate Sale" is another strong episode of Schitt's Creek, featuring the beloved characters we've come to know and love. It showcases the family's ability to adapt to their new surroundings, and proves that they're capable of overcoming even the toughest of obstacles. With sharp writing, hilarious performances, and plenty of heart, this episode is not to be missed.
