Johnny, Stevie, and Roland are on their way to the All-Ontario Regional Schitt's Creek Soapbox Derby. Moira and David have decided to take a back road to avoid traffic. However, their adventure takes an unexpected turn when they hit a roadkill while driving. As they try to figure out what to do with the dead animal, they find themselves lost in the wilderness, without any cell reception.

Back in Schitt's Creek, Alexis is scrambling to prepare a surprise party for Ted's birthday. She enlists help from Mutt, Twyla, and Patrick. Meanwhile, Ted is having second thoughts about his relationship with Alexis, and seeks advice from David. Despite their past differences, the Rose siblings work together to make Ted's birthday celebration a success.
