Ep 2. Cover Me

Dewey Finn, a failing rocker and substitute teacher, is determined to turn his class of prep-school students into a rock band. In episode two of School of Rock, titled "Cover Me," Dewey's attempts to inspire his students with the power of rock continue as he challenges them to learn how to play covers of famous songs.

The episode kicks off with Dewey introducing the concept of cover songs to his class, explaining that many bands get their start by playing other artist's songs and making them their own. Despite some initial resistance from some of the students, Dewey is able to convince them to give it a shot.

The first cover they attempt is "Ziggy Stardust" by David Bowie. The group struggles at first, but with Dewey's guidance and encouragement, they begin to come together and make progress. As the band begins to really gel, Dewey becomes more and more excited about their potential.

However, not everyone is thrilled with the idea of a school rock band. Principal Mullins is skeptical of Dewey's methods and worries that the band will distract the students from their studies. She confronts Dewey about his priorities and urges him to focus more on teaching and less on his rock and roll fantasies.

Despite the principal's concerns, the band continues to work on their covers and even undertakes a new challenge- performing a mashup of two different songs: "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor and "I Wanna Rock" by Twisted Sister. As they rehearse, tensions begin to rise between some of the band members, leading Dewey to step in and help them work through their differences.

Finally, the day of the big performance arrives. The band takes the stage and delivers a rousing performance of their mashup, complete with a high-energy dance routine. The crowd goes wild, and even Principal Mullins can't help but smile.

With this success, Dewey is more convinced than ever that his students have what it takes to become a real rock band. Despite the challenges that lie ahead, he is determined to help the School of Rock take the music world by storm.
