Talia in the Kitchen is not just another chef program. Rather it's a Nickelodeon-based sitcom and the U.S. version of the Latino Toni la Chef. It is considered to be a telenovela, which means that it's not expected to last for more than a year. However, the second season of Talia is expected to premiere in Fall 2015.

The show starts when Talia visits her grandmother at the age of 14. Her grandmother runs the family's restaurant and so naturally, Talia starts to spend much of her time there. While there, she discovers that she has her own unique gift as a chef. Since the show is made for kids, a little magic is thrown into it, namely Talia's fathers old magical spices, which makes it possible for Talia to just whip up whatever the customer orders.

Aside from all the fun stuff, the show goes out of its way to show the imperfections of the restaurant business. For example, in one episode, Lola's almost gets shut down due to a prank involving a chicken. The show is full of pranks but also shows the consequences of what can happen when a prank goes wrong. For example, in one episode, Talia gets trapped in the vents due to a prank that she tried to play involving Fuccinelli's superglue.

Talia in the Kitchen is a show that promotes fun with food and shows that running a restaurant doesn't have to be no-nonsense all the time.
