Ep 21. My Fallen Idol

In the Season 5, Episode 21 of Scrubs titled My Fallen Idol, J.D. (played by Zach Braff) is faced with a difficult situation when he discovers that his idol, Dr. Cox (played by John C. McGinley), has fallen off the wagon and is drinking again. J.D. tries to convince Dr. Cox to stop drinking and get help, but Dr. Cox refuses to acknowledge that he has a problem.

Carla (played by Judy Reyes) tells J.D. to take a tough-love approach and force Dr. Cox to face his problem. Turk tells J.D. to be patient and let Dr. Cox come to the realization on his own.

In the end, J.D. makes a decision that could have serious consequences for his career and his friendship with Dr. Cox. He confronts Dr. Cox and tries to make him see that he needs help. Dr. Cox finally admits that he has a problem, and J.D. is able to get him into a rehab program.
