In Shameless season 2 episode 4, titled "Episode 4", the Gallagher family continues to navigate their chaotic lives in the heart of the South Side of Chicago.

The episode begins with Fiona (Emmy Rossum) struggling to balance her responsibilities as a caretaker for her siblings and her own personal life. Meanwhile, Lip (Jeremy Allen White) tries to win back Karen (Laura Wiggins), but struggles to let go of his feelings for Mandy (Emma Greenwell).

Debbie (Emma Kenney) faces challenges at school and relies on Frank (William H. Macy) for help with her school project, which leads to unexpected consequences.

Ian (Cameron Monaghan) deals with the aftermath of his encounter with Mickey (Noel Fisher) and the impact it has on his relationship with his new boyfriend, while also attempting to figure out his own path in life.

In the midst of all this, Sheila (Joan Cusack) faces a difficult decision regarding her relationship with Jody (Zach McGowan) and his desire to start a family.
