Ep 1. Episode 1

Frank Gallagher and his family are back in the first episode of Shameless season 4, titled "Episode 1". The episode kicks off with Frank waking up in Mexico after a drunken bender, confused and alone. Meanwhile, his family is struggling to make ends meet back in Chicago.

Fiona is working at a diner and caring for her siblings, as usual. She's stressed and exhausted, but determined to keep her family together and make a better life for everyone. Her job at the diner is barely enough to pay the bills, so she's constantly looking for ways to make more money.

Debbie and Carl are in school, but they're both struggling. Debbie is being bullied by her classmates and feels like an outcast, while Carl is more interested in starting his own "business" than paying attention in class.

Lip, the family genius, is still struggling with his own demons. He's become involved with a married professor at a nearby college, and he's struggling to balance his schoolwork, his relationship, and his family obligations. He's also dealing with the fallout from his decision to sell drugs to make some quick cash.

Ian, the family rebel, is working at a gay bar and trying to figure out where he fits in in the world. He's still reeling from his breakup with Mickey, who is now in jail, and he's not sure what he wants to do with his life.

As the episode progresses, we see Frank making his way back to Chicago. He hitchhikes and takes odd jobs to make his way home, and we see flashbacks of his time in Mexico and the events that led him to flee the country.

When Frank finally arrives back in Chicago, he's greeted with mixed reactions from his family. Fiona is angry with him for abandoning them once again, while some of the kids are happy to see him. However, it quickly becomes clear that Frank hasn't changed at all. He's still drinking heavily and getting himself into trouble, and his presence only adds more stress to the already chaotic Gallagher household.
