Shop Class is a reality competition TV show that puts the focus on creativity and craftsmanship rather than fast-paced behaviors of human beings. The show is hosted by the American actress and voice artist Kelly Ractham alongside renowned designer Brooks Atwood, and actor Justin Long. Each episode of the show features three teams comprising two students, one teacher, and a mentor, who work together to create one-of-a-kind inventions in a limited amount of time.

The competition takes place in a fully equipped workshop where the teams are given a brief, which outlines the theme, the objective, and the materials that they will use for that episode's challenge. The show features a range of challenges from constructing floating motorized boats to building large-scale amusement park attractions. The teams will then work together with their mentors to design, plan, and create their inventions, while facing unexpected obstacles and twists throughout the competition.

Each episode tests the contestants' skills in creativity, engineering design, and technical fabrication. The judges on the show are the chief engineer of Disney's Imagineering department, Tony Gonzalez, and YouTube star and builder, Lauren Riihimaki. Throughout the course of the season, teams earn points for their performances and the top teams advance to the final challenge. The winning team earns a prize of $50,000 and the title of Shop Class champions.

In addition to showcasing innovation and design, Shop Class highlights the importance of teamwork and collaboration. The show helps to inspire creativity and critical thinking to a new generation of young students who dream of becoming future designers, carpenters, architects or engineers. The series also brings recognition to the importance of having high-quality maker spaces in schools and the positive impact that can have on students.

Overall, Shop Class is an exciting and engaging competition series that taps into the creativity and imagination of young students, while also delivering an insightful message about the importance of team collaboration and 21st-century skills. It's enjoyable entertainment for the whole family, with stunning glimpses at imagination and logic in motion that will impress viewers of all ages. Disney+ has beautifully blended creativity with technology to offer an excellent experience to its audience.
