Ep 17. Reaper

In Smallville season 1 episode 17, titled "Reaper," the episode begins with a young man named Tyler McKay committing a robbery in downtown Smallville. Despite Clark's attempts to stop him, Tyler manages to escape with the stolen goods and runs into a cornfield.

Meanwhile, Jonathan is dealing with some financial troubles and has to lay off some of the workers on the farm. This puts a strain on his relationship with Martha, who believes that they should be doing more to help the workers.

As Clark and Pete search for Tyler in the cornfield, they come across a strange figure who appears to be reaping the crops with a sickle. Clark later learns that this figure is actually the Grim Reaper, who has come to Smallville to collect souls.

As more people in Smallville start dying, Clark realizes that he is the only one who can stop the Reaper and save his friends and family. He teams up with a reluctant Lex Luthor, who believes that the Reaper is actually a new form of technology developed by his own company.

Together, Clark and Lex discover that the Reaper is actually a biological weapon that was developed by an old friend of Lex's, who wanted to use it to get revenge on the people who had wronged him in the past. They manage to destroy the Reaper, but not before it claims one final victim.

In the end, Clark learns a valuable lesson about the importance of standing up for what is right, even when it means going against the people you love. The episode ends with a touching moment between Clark and his parents, as they come together to celebrate their victory over evil.
