Ep 13. Time Squared

Captain Picard and the crew of the USS Enterprise find themselves in a perplexing situation in season 2 episode 13 of Star Trek: The Next Generation, titled Time Squared. As the episode begins, the Enterprise receives a distress signal from a Federation shuttlecraft that has been drifting through space for over six months. When they investigate, they discover that the shuttlecraft belongs to none other than Captain Picard himself.

The crew is baffled by the discovery, since they know that Picard is currently aboard the Enterprise. However, when they bring the shuttlecraft onboard and awaken Picard from his cryogenic sleep, they are shocked to find that he has no memory of how he came to be on the shuttlecraft or why he left the Enterprise in the first place.

As they try to unravel the mystery, the crew begins to suspect that they may have encountered a rift in time that has caused two versions of Picard to exist simultaneously. The other version of Picard, who is still aboard the Enterprise, begins to experience strange and disturbing visions that seem to be connected to the time rift.

With the help of a time expert who happens to be on board the Enterprise, the crew attempts to send one of the Picards back through the rift to prevent a catastrophic event that they believe is about to occur. However, they are met with resistance from both versions of Picard, who each feel that it is their duty to stay and solve the mystery.

As tensions rise and tempers flare, the crew must work together to determine the best course of action and prevent disaster. Will they succeed in closing the time rift and restoring order to the universe, or will they be doomed to live out an eternity in an endless loop of time?
