Ep 2. Terror After Midnight

In the second episode of Still a Mystery season 2, titled "Terror After Midnight," the show explores unsolved cases of terror that struck individuals in the middle of the night.

The episode starts with the story of a young, single mother who was brutally murdered in her own home. Her young son was the only witness to the crime and although he identified the killer to police, they were never able to find enough evidence to convict him. The case remains unsolved to this day.

Next, the show delves into the story of a teenage girl who was viciously attacked and left for dead on the side of the road in the middle of the night. Multiple suspects were questioned, but none were ever charged with the crime. This case remains unsolved as well.

The episode then shifts to a case in which the victim survived the attack. A woman was held captive in her own home by a stranger who broke in and threatened her with a knife. She managed to escape and the suspect was eventually caught, but the victim has never fully recovered from the psychological trauma of the experience.

In another case, a couple was found brutally murdered in their home after a neighbor reported hearing strange noises and cries for help in the early hours of the morning. Despite multiple suspects being identified and questioned, the case remains unsolved.

The final story in this episode is about a woman who went missing after getting into a car with a man she had just met at a bar. Her body was discovered the next morning, and despite a suspect being identified and even confessing to the crime, no charges were ever filed.

Throughout the episode, experts discuss the psychological impact of being attacked or threatened in the middle of the night and the effect it can have on a person's ability to find closure. The show also sheds light on the difficulties law enforcement faces when trying to solve cases in which the perpetrator strikes in the cover of darkness.
