Super Soul Sunday is hosted by Oprah Winfrey, broadcasts through OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network and is filmed on location at Harpo Studios. This is a self-help or self-enlightening program that is meant to help lift the mind, body and soul. Its goal is to encourage the viewers to be the best that they can be and in turn, connect with others on a deeper level. Super Soul Sunday won a 2012 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Special Class Series.

During the show several topics are explored and discussed. These topics revolve around teaching others how to live their life to the fullest. This includes alternative health methods, conscious living, personal well-being, spiritual awareness and exploring the afterlife. Oprah Winfrey and guest co-hosts discuss their beliefs, insight, knowledge and insight on each of the topics. Most times there are group discussions but there are also one-on-one conversations with experts in the field.

Exert guests include spiritual advisors, medical professionals, famous authors and award winning filmmakers. Co-hosts include Dr. Wayne Dyer, Portia de Rossi and Elie Wiesel. Guests include Debbie Ford, Sarah Ban Breathnach, Gary Zukav, Ram Dass and Thich Nhat Hanh. The viewing audience is also encouraged to join the live global conversations. Viewers can join through Facebook, Twitter and through the online website.

Rainn Wilson's SoulPancake is also featured on Super Soul Sunday. SoulPancake consists of inspirational and self-motivational short films. These films are based on philosophy, spiritual belief, the arts and religion. Typically, there is also a Best of the Oprah Show episode shown that correlates to the topic of that episode of Super Soul Sunday. It will highlight the past guest and discuss the life experiences that evolved from it. Super Soul Sunday is also home to Oprah Winfrey's Book Club 2.0. Excerpts and passages from the book of the month are read and discussed.
