Supernatural Season 8 Episode 14 Trial and Error

Sam and Dean receive a message from Kevin, their prophet friend who had gone into hiding after Crowley's minions had nearly killed him. With the help of his angel advisor, Kevin has decoded some of the tablets hidden by God describing the trials that one must endure to purify the Leviathan-eating demon blood, which is now coursing through Sam's veins.

After deciphering the first of the trials, Sam and Dean must embark on a dangerous mission to retrieve the branch of a Tree from the Garden of Eden, which is in the possession of a powerful occultist, Plutus. Meanwhile, Crowley, desperate to find the tablets, enlists the help of a demon who has knowledge of a way to track them down.

As Sam and Dean search for the Tree branch, they have to square off against Plutus and his mammoth-sized hounds, and they soon realize that the trial is not what it seems. However, they are aided by an unexpected ally whose identity shocks them both.

Meanwhile, Crowley continues to hunt for the tablets, and convinces the demon tracking expert to accompany him to Plutus's lair. Their arrival triggers a series of events, which may culminate in Plutus's destruction. But will Sam and Dean complete the trial and save Sam from his inner demons before it's too late? Or will they succumb to the obstacles in their path, condemning Sam to his fate?

Trial and Error is a thrilling and suspenseful episode, which takes viewers on a high-stakes journey through the realms of Heaven and Hell. The episode's eerie ambiance is heightened by the dark and moody visuals and sound design, which perfectly complement the episode's sinister and foreboding plot twists. With exceptional performances by the cast, especially Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles as Sam and Dean, respectively, Trial and Error is an outstanding episode that delivers thrills, chills, and more than a few surprises.
