Ep 3. Eagle Assassins

In Survive the Tribe season 1 episode 3, titled "Eagle Assassins," we follow host Hazen Audel as he joins the Kazakh tribe in Mongolia. The Kazakh people are known for their deep bond with golden eagles, and Hazen is tasked with learning the ancient art of hunting with eagles.

Hazen travels to the remote mountains of Western Mongolia, where he meets with a Kazakh hunter named Nurken. Nurken has been hunting with eagles his entire life and is eager to share his knowledge with Hazen. Nurken begins by demonstrating the process of capturing a young eagle from its nest and raising it to adulthood.

After several weeks of bonding with his eagle, Hazen is ready for his first hunt. He and Nurken set out early in the morning, dressed in traditional fur coats and hats, along with their eagles and a pack of hunting dogs. The hunt is physically grueling, with Hazen and Nurken trekking through steep, snowy mountains for hours on end.

When they finally spot their prey, a wild fox running through the snow, Hazen watches in awe as Nurken releases his eagle. The bird swoops down and captures the fox with its sharp talons, bringing it back to Nurken. Hazen is amazed by the deadly efficiency of the eagle's attack and the intense bond between hunter and bird.

Over the course of the episode, Hazen learns more about the Kazakh people and their way of life. He witnesses traditional dances and songs, participates in grueling horse races, and learns about the importance of hospitality in Kazakh culture. Through it all, he gains a deep appreciation for the way the Kazakh people live in harmony with the harsh natural environment around them.

As the episode draws to a close, Hazen reflects on the experience of learning from the Kazakh people. He feels grateful for the opportunity to witness their unique way of life and hopes that viewers will also come away with a newfound appreciation for the power of nature and the incredible things humanity can accomplish in partnership with it.
