As the days go by, Hazen becomes increasingly aware of the dangers surrounding him. The jungle is full of venomous snakes, and he witnesses firsthand the Kombai's skill in dealing with them. He also sees crocodiles lurking in the rivers and learns how to avoid them when hunting for food. All the while, he is careful to remain respectful of the Kombai way of life and not infringe on any of their sacred taboos.
Towards the end of the episode, Hazen faces his biggest challenge yet when he sets out on a hunting expedition with the tribe. The hunt involves navigating through dense jungle terrain, and Hazen is tasked with keeping up with the experienced Kombai hunters. They encounter many obstacles on their journey, including steep hills and raging rivers, but eventually make their way to a hunting ground.
Once there, Hazen is shown how to use traditional Kombai hunting methods, including the use of poison-tipped arrows. He quickly learns that hunting with the Kombai is not for the faint of heart, and he brings back his first hunted animal to the celebration of the tribe.
In the end, Hazen survives and thrives alongside the Kombai and earns their trust. He manages to learn their valuable survival skills and respects their culture. The episode highlights the importance of mutual respect and understanding in survival situations, showing viewers that with respect and humility, one can learn and adapt to survive in even the harshest conditions.
