Sword of Honour is a British television series that follows the journey of a man named Guy Crouchback, who comes from a wealthy family in London. The series is set during World War II and is based on the trilogy of novels by Evelyn Waugh. At the start of the series, Guy is divorced and living a somewhat aimless life, having recently moved back in with his parents. He decides to join the army in an effort to find purpose and meaning in his life, and to do his part for the war effort. However, as a 36-year-old officer, he is deemed too old for active service and instead ends up training recruits.

Throughout the series, Guy navigates a series of personal and professional challenges, all in the midst of a war that threatens to change the world forever. He struggles to come to terms with his divorce and the fact that his ex-wife has remarried, and grapples with feelings of inadequacy and disillusionment as he tries to find his place in the army.

Meanwhile, the war rages on, with Guy and his colleagues facing danger and hardship at every turn. They must contend with the brutal realities of the front lines, as well as the political and social upheaval that is reshaping Europe and the world.

At the heart of Sword of Honour is the character of Guy, who is complex, flawed, and ultimately sympathetic. He is a man struggling to find his way in a world that has changed beyond recognition, and the series does an excellent job of capturing both the personal and the historical dimensions of his story.

One of the things that sets Sword of Honour apart from other war dramas is its attention to detail and historical accuracy. The series is painstakingly researched, with a keen eye for the nuances and complexities of the era. This makes the show feel authentic and immersive, transporting viewers back in time to a world that is both familiar and alien.

Another standout feature of the series is its cast, which is populated by a who's who of British acting talent. Daniel Craig stars as Guy, in one of his earliest roles before achieving global fame with the James Bond franchise. Other notable actors in the series include Megan Dodds, who plays Guy's ex-wife Virginia, and Leslie Phillips, who plays Guy's father.

All in all, Sword of Honour is a powerful and evocative depiction of one man's journey through a world at war. It captures the personal, political, and historical dimensions of the era with sensitivity and nuance, and features a compelling central character whose struggles and triumphs will resonate with viewers long after the credits have rolled.

Sword of Honour is a series that is currently running and has 1 seasons (2 episodes). The series first aired on September 21, 2015.
