As the Taskmaster season 7 rolls on, the competitors are being stretched more than ever before. Each episode forces them to push the limits of their creativity and intelligence, and episode 6 is no different. This week's episode is entitled "A Coquettish Fascinator," and promises to be just as entertaining and challenging as the previous episodes.
The episode opens with the contestants, Ed Gamble, Jo Brand, Katy Wix, Rose Matafeo, and David Baddiel, arriving at the Taskmaster's mansion. They are greeted by Greg Davies, who explains that the first task involves them entering a room filled with balloons and trying to pop as many of them as they can by sitting on them. However, there is a twist. Each contestant is given a special hat to wear that makes it extremely difficult to see, and they must navigate their way through the room blindly. The task seems easy, but the contestants quickly discover that popping balloons is much harder than it looks, especially when they are wearing a hat that completely covers their eyes.
After an intense round of balloon-popping, the contestants move on to the next task. Taskmaster Greg gives each of them a piece of cardboard and a pair of scissors and instructs them to make a fashionable fascinator in just 15 minutes. They are told that the fascinator must be coquettish, a word that none of the contestants seem to know the meaning of. They are given two minutes to look the word up in the dictionary before they start on their designs.
As the contestants work on their fascinators, it becomes clear that some are struggling more than others. David Baddiel is having trouble using the scissors and ends up with a fascinator that looks like it was made by a child. Jo Brand is surprisingly creative, using a bag of tortilla chips as a decoration for her fascinator. Rose Matafeo and Katy Wix have similar fascinators, but Katy's is judged to be slightly better by the Taskmaster.
The third task of the episode involves each contestant eating a cracker as quickly as possible. Seems easy, right? Not when the crackers are the size of a large pizza and the contestants can't use their hands. They must put their face down on the giant cracker and eat it only using their mouth. Ed Gamble sets a new Taskmaster record, devouring his cracker in just 23 seconds, but the other contestants struggle much more.
The final task of the episode is a team task, with Rose and David on one team, and Jo, Ed, and Katy on the other team. They must create a portrait of each other, using only the contents of a giant piñata. The contestants go wild, throwing the various items from the piñata onto the canvas and creating some truly bizarre portraits. Rose and David's portrait of Ed is particularly hilarious, with a wig made from coconut shavings and a banana for a nose.
Overall, "A Coquettish Fascinator" is a fantastic episode of Taskmaster, full of hilarious moments and unexpected challenges. Each contestant brings their own unique style and personality to the show, and it's incredible to watch them all work together and compete against each other at the same time. Fans of the show will not be disappointed with this week's episode, which is sure to be a highlight of the season.
