In Teachers season 2 episode 5 titled "Snap Judgement," the group of misfit teachers is back to their antics in Fillmore Elementary School. This time, Ms. Cannon tries to teach the children about the importance of their words and the way they act. She puts forward a play that highlights the consequences of a snap judgement against anyone and how it can hurt people.
While this is going on, Ms. Feldman is trying to deal with a very dedicated student who is struggling with ADHD. She tries to figure out how to help him while maintaining peace in her classroom and not disrupting the other kids. At the same time, Ms. Watson is attempting to get her class in order with the use of a reward chart, but trouble arises when a few kids don't seem to care about the rewards.
The group of teachers who always seem to be in each other's business also continue to have their drama. Ms. Snap is still dealing with her breakup and trying to keep the secret from the rest of the gang. Meanwhile, Ms. Bennigan is trying to accept her new relationship with the school's security guard, the mysterious and elusive Pat O'Connor. However, the relationship is still tricky, and Bennigan soon finds herself in uncharted territory when trying to get to know Pat better.
As always, Teachers doesn't disappoint with its hilarious yet realistic take on the lives of educators. The episode is filled with drama, heart, and of course, laugh-out-loud moments that keep the audience engaged. Along with its usual sassy and feminist humour, this episode also serves as an important reminder of how our words can harm someone even if it's unintentional.
The episode does a great job of tackling the issue of snap judgments and the impact they can have. The actors pull off their roles excellently, and the writing is both witty and insightful. The subplot of Ms. Feldman and her student dealing with ADHD is also well-executed, showcasing the struggles that teachers often have while dealing with special needs students.
The relationship between Ms. Bennigan and O'Connor is a pleasant surprise and brings a newer angle to the show. It is fun to see Bennigan flustered while trying to impress O'Connor, and the two have excellent chemistry on screen. It will be interesting to see how their relationship progresses through the season.
Overall, "Snap Judgement" is an excellent addition to the Teachers series. It succeeds in blending comedy and heart seamlessly. Fans of the show will not be disappointed, and new viewers will find themselves invested in the characters immediately. The episode stays true to the show's theme of depicting the lives of teachers without any sugarcoating. The show winds up on a cliffhanger, which will have the audience eager to watch the next episode.
