It’s been a couple of months since the season premiere of Teen Mom 2, and the drama keeps on piling up. Episode eight, titled Kalter Krieg, which means Cold War in German, focuses on Briana and Kail’s ongoing feud. However, before we dive into their dispute, let’s backtrack to a bit of last week’s episode, where we saw Leah struggling to deal with the absence of her girls, who were on vacation with their dad, Jeremy.
Leah spent most of her time trying to keep herself busy, so she wouldn’t be alone with her thoughts, but eventually, she sat down and got emotional, telling her friend, Jeremy, that she hates not having her daughters around. Jeremy comforts her and tells her that it’s okay to cry and to feel sad.
Meanwhile, in Florida, Kail and her boys are on vacation with her ex-husband, Javi, and his girlfriend, Briana. Kail is not over the fact that Briana betrayed her last season by dating Javi, and the two women have been bickering ever since. Javi and Briana have been together, and Kail is convinced that Briana is using Javi to get back at her.
On the other hand, Briana insists that she is not after Kail’s sloppy seconds and that she genuinely likes Javi. Things escalate when Kail overhears Briana talking about her in a conversation with Javi. She confronts Briana, and the two exchange words. Later in the episode, the women agree to sit down and talk, but the conversation doesn’t go as planned, and they end up walking out on each other.
Elsewhere, Chelsea is dealing with her own set of issues, namely her anxiety. Chelsea explains to her mom that she’s feeling anxious about her daughter, Aubree, going to school full-time and that she doesn’t know how she’s going to manage it. Chelsea’s mom suggests that she should see her therapist, but Chelsea insists that she doesn’t have time to see one.
Over in Delaware, we catch up with Jenelle, who has a court hearing about her custody battle with her mother, Barbara. In case you missed it, last week, Jenelle decided to skip a supervised visit with her son, Jace, because her mother told her that she couldn’t bring her husband, David, along. Jenelle failed to show up for the visit, and Barbara took her to court, claiming that she violated their custody agreement.
In Kalter Krieg, we see David and Jenelle sitting outside the courthouse, discussing the hearing. David tells Jenelle that he’s been reading up on the law and that he thinks they’ve got a solid case. Jenelle is not pleased that David is getting involved and tells him to stay out of it.
During the hearing, the judge listens to Barbara’s side of the story, and Jenelle explains why she didn't show up for the visit. The judge ultimately rules in favor of Barbara, and Jenelle gets visibly upset. After the hearing, David confronts Barbara and tells her that she’s only doing this to cause problems.
Finally, we catch up with Kail, who has a conversation with her friend, Bone, about her feud with Briana. Kail admits that she shouldn't have gone on vacation with Briana and Javi and that she’s done with Briana for good. She also admits that she’s been struggling with depression and that she’s going to see a therapist to get the help she needs.
In the end, the episode concludes with each of the moms dealing with their own set of issues. Leah is still missing her daughters, Chelsea is struggling with anxiety, Jenelle lost her court battle, and Kail is dealing with depression. As for Briana, we see her spending time with her family and trying to put the drama behind her. However, based on next week's episode, it looks like the drama is far from over.
