In Season 7 Episode 6 of the DIY Network's hit show "Texas Flip and Move," titled "Hot Lodge vs. Art Deco Digs," viewers get to follow along as two teams of expert house flippers buy, renovate, and sell homes in the Lone Star State. This week, the teams face off in a battle of style, with one group taking on a rustic lodge renovation while the other tackles an Art Deco-inspired house flip.

First up is the Hot Lodge team, made up of designer Casey and her husband Catrina, along with their trusty construction crew. They set their sights on a dilapidated cabin in the small town of Leonard, Texas. The property is nestled on several acres of land just north of Dallas, but the cabin is in rough shape, with rotten wood and crumbling masonry.

Despite the challenges, the Hot Lodge team sees the potential in the property's location and layout. They devise a plan to fully gut the interior and add modern touches while also preserving the cabin's rustic charm. They hope to turn a profit with a final sale price of around $230,000.

Meanwhile, the Art Deco Digs team, consisting of siblings Randy and Paige, takes on a very different project. They purchase a 1940s-era house in the historic district of Temple, Texas. The house features sleek lines, geometric shapes, and plenty of Art Deco-style details. However, it's clear that the house has been neglected for years, with a leaky roof, outdated electrical wiring, and a cramped, awkward layout.

The Art Deco Digs team hopes to breathe new life into the old home by opening up the space and emphasizing its unique architectural features. They plan on transforming the home into an airy, spacious retreat while still paying homage to its Art Deco roots. They aim to sell the home for around $300,000.

As the two teams begin their respective renovations, they encounter several unexpected setbacks. The Hot Lodge team discovers that the cabin's foundation is unstable and must be replaced completely, adding thousands of dollars to their budget. Meanwhile, the Art Deco Digs crew discovers that the roof needs to be completely torn off and replaced, which will also eat up a large chunk of their funds.

Despite these challenges, both teams soldier on, working around the clock to complete their renovations before the final reveal. As the episode draws to a close, viewers get a chance to see the finished products, with both the Hot Lodge and Art Deco Digs teams showcasing their unique designs.

The Hot Lodge team successfully combines rustic elements like exposed wood beams and stone fireplace with modern touches like sleek tile and stainless steel appliances. The end result is a cozy and inviting home with a contemporary feel. The Art Deco Digs team, on the other hand, manages to open up the cramped, closed-off home and create a bright, airy space that showcases the building's unique Art Deco design. They add historic touches like elegant light fixtures and angular shapes while also incorporating modern conveniences like a luxurious walk-in shower.

In the end, both teams feel proud of their work and confident in their ability to sell their properties for a profit. Viewers are left with a sense of awe at the transforming power of expert renovation and a renewed appreciation for the beautiful state of Texas.
