At the 13th Academy Awards ceremony held at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, CA - John Ford's How Green Was My Valley was the big winner of the evening picking up a total of five Oscars including Outstanding Motion Picture, Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Donald Crisp, and once again for John Ford for Best Director. Acting legend Gary Cooper won Best Lead Actor for his role in Sergeant York while Walt Disney Productions picked up yet another Oscar for their cartoon short Lend a Paw from the Mickey Mouse Series.
