The Amazing Race season 15 episode 3, titled "It's Like Being Dropped on Planet Mars," follows the remaining teams as they make their way through the desert landscapes of Dubai. The episode begins with the teams receiving a clue instructing them to travel to Dubai by way of a private jet. Once they arrive, they must navigate the city and find a hotel where they will sleep for the night.
The first challenge of the episode takes place at the Dubai Marina, where teams are required to perform a water-based task involving Jet Skis. Each team must race around a designated course and retrieve a clue from a buoy in the water. This task proves to be difficult for some teams, as they struggle to navigate the Jet Skis and retrieve the clue.
From there, teams must make their way to the Dubai Mall, where they will participate in a unique shopping challenge. Each team is given a set amount of money and is tasked with buying three specific items from the mall. The catch? The items are written in Arabic, so teams must rely on their language skills and the help of locals to complete the task successfully.
After completing the shopping challenge, teams must make their way to a nearby sand dune where they will participate in a camel-riding challenge. This task requires each team member to ride a camel for a specified distance around the dune, coordinating their movements and ensuring that the camels stay on course. Once completed, teams receive a clue instructing them to make their way to the next Pit Stop.
The final leg of the episode takes place at the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building. Teams must make their way to the observation deck, where they will find their next clue. However, getting to the observation deck proves to be a challenge, as teams must navigate the maze-like corridors of the building and take a series of elevators to reach the top.
Once teams reach the observation deck, they face a Roadblock challenge that involves navigating a robotic arm to transport a block of ice from one end of a platform to the other. This task requires precision and patience, as one false move could cause the ice block to fall and shatter.
Finally, teams make their way to the Pit Stop, where they are greeted by Phil Keoghan. The team that arrives first is rewarded with a luxury vacation, while the team that comes in last is eliminated from the race.
Throughout the episode, tensions run high as teams struggle to complete tasks and overcome obstacles. The unique challenges and stunning scenery of Dubai provide a breathtaking backdrop for the episode, and viewers are left on the edge of their seats as each team fights to stay in the race.
