Once he awakens in the real world, he meets the crew of the Nebuchadnezzar and becomes fascinated by their efforts to fight the machines. Initially, he struggles to adjust to his new life, but he is soon trained to become part of the resistance and takes it upon himself to help defeat the machines by risking everything to get in touch with Neo, the one who freed him from his oppressive reality.
