Amidst all the chaos, Dawn sees what she believes is a ghostly apparition in the attic, but it turns out to be a trick of the light. Meanwhile, the kids have wandered off into the cellar, which is notorious for being the most haunted area of the house.

Dawn decides to follow them into the cellar to make sure they're safe. They discover a hidden room, which is dusty and filled with cobwebs. In the center of the room is a large chest, which is locked. Travis, eager to investigate the chest, tries to force it open, but as he lifts the lid, there is a loud scream, and the kids dash out of the room.

Dawn follows them, and they all huddle together, terrified. Dawn tries to reassure them by saying that it was probably just the noise from the old house, but she is also spooked out. She decides to call Kristy, who comes over to check on them. Kristy assures the kids that the sounds are just the old house creaking and the wind outside.
