In The Big Bang Theory season 11 episode 21, titled "The Comet Polarization," the gang is excited about a rare astronomical event - a near-Earth comet that hasn't been seen in decades. Sheldon, Howard, Raj, and Bert (who is a geologist) plan to spend the night observing the comet and recording data. However, things don't go as planned when their telescope breaks down, leaving them without any means to observe the comet.
Meanwhile, Amy and Bernadette are working on a project together, but they're having trouble getting along. It seems that their personalities are clashing, with Amy being too bossy and Bernadette feeling like she's not being heard. In an effort to help them resolve their conflicts, Penny suggests they take a pottery class together.
Back at the observatory, the guys are struggling to fix their telescope, but they're interrupted by a group of teenagers who are also there to watch the comet. The kids are skeptical of the gang's abilities and don't think they know what they're doing. This leads to a hilarious competition between the two groups - the adults vs. the teenagers - to see who can observe the most data about the comet.
Eventually, Sheldon comes up with a plan to use a smartphone camera to take pictures of the comet. Despite some initial skepticism from the group, they end up getting some great photos of the comet and are thrilled with their success.
Meanwhile, the pottery class doesn't go very well for Amy and Bernadette. They end up arguing and getting pottery clay all over themselves. It looks like their friendship might be over until Penny intervenes and encourages them to see things from each other's perspective.
In the end, the gang is able to observe the comet and gather valuable data, and Amy and Bernadette are able to work through their issues and become closer friends. The episode ends with a sweet moment of the gang looking at the photos they took of the comet, with Sheldon reflecting on the beauty of the universe and how lucky they are to be able to observe it.
