Ep 22. The Monetary Insufficiency

The Monetary Insufficiency is the twenty-second episode in the eleventh season of the popular sitcom The Big Bang Theory. The episode starts with Sheldon complaining to Leonard that his laptop is too slow, and suggests that they should upgrade their equipment. Meanwhile, Howard and Bernadette are having dinner and they discuss the finances of raising children, and how they have to be careful with their expenses. In the meantime, Penny and Amy are spending their evening in a wine bar, discussing how they can be more supportive of their significant others.

As Sheldon and Leonard try to sell Raj’s telescope, they run into several roadblocks, including scams and low ball offers. After weeks of trying, they have still not sold the telescope, and Raj grows more impatient.

Later, Howard suggests that they should try and sell the telescope to Stuart, who runs the comic book store. Although Leonard is against the idea, Sheldon agrees and eventually convinces him to do so. The group meets with Stuart at the comic book store, but Stuart offers an even lower price than what they paid for the telescope. Raj isn’t happy about the deal, but eventually agrees after realizing he has no other option.

During the same time, Penny and Amy get into a fight over their boyfriends’ interests and the way they should support them. However, they soon patch things up and agree to support their partners no matter what.

At the end of the episode, Sheldon and Leonard feel guilty about selling the telescope to Stuart at such a low price, and they resolve to improve their financial situation so that they can afford to purchase new equipment. The episode ends with the group, including Raj, admiring a new set of high-end equipment that Sheldon and Leonard have bought.
