Along the way, the duo encounter a variety of eccentric and colorful characters, including an undead border guard named Death (Christopher Lee), a dragon-taming hero named Cohen the Barbarian (David Bradley), and a cunning thief named Hrun the Barbarian (James Cosmo). They also find themselves pursued by a pair of particularly persistent assassins named Mr. Teatime (Nigel Planer) and the Lady (Liz May Brice), who are hired by Trymon to eliminate Rincewind and Twoflower and prevent them from locating the Octavo.

And James Cosmo steals scenes as Hrun the Barbarian, a roguish and charismatic thief who befriends Rincewind and Twoflower despite his criminal tendencies.
