Tin Man is a modern re-imagining of L. Frank Baum's classic novel, The Wizard of Oz. The show premiered in 2007 and was produced by RHI Entertainment. The miniseries is a sci-fi/fantasy adventure that follows a young woman named DG (Zooey Deschanel), who is swept away from her mundane life in Kansas and transported to the mystical land of the O.Z. (Outer Zone).

The show is set in a futuristic world, where technology has advanced to a point where humans can travel to other dimensions. The O.Z. is a strange and dangerous world, ruled by the evil Sorceress Azkadellia (Kathleen Robertson). DG’s arrival in the O.Z. sparks a rebellion against Azkadellia and her oppressive regime.

On her journey to defeat Azkadellia, DG meets a cast of strange and fascinating characters. One of the most notable is a half-human, half-machine being known as the Tin Man (Neal McDonough). The Tin Man is a former law enforcement officer in the O.Z. who lost his heart and emotions in the line of duty. DG befriends him and helps him rediscover his humanity.

Another important character is Glitch (Alan Cumming), a former advisor to Azkadellia who has had his brain removed and replaced with a mechanical device. Glitch joins DG on her quest, hoping to regain his memories and his former self.

The group is also aided by a mysterious mystical creature named Raw (Raoul Trujillo). Raw is a "viewer," a rare and powerful being who has the ability to see into the hearts of others and predict their actions. He is a loyal friend and ally to DG and her companions.

The show has a unique visual style, blending traditional fantasy elements with futuristic technology. The sets and costumes are imaginative and immersive, creating a believably magical world that feels both ancient and modern.

The story of Tin Man is fast-paced and action-packed, with plenty of twists and turns to keep the viewer engaged. The themes of family, loyalty, and redemption are woven throughout the narrative, giving the characters depth and emotional resonance.

The cast of Tin Man is excellent, with standout performances from Deschanel, McDonough, and Cumming. Deschanel brings a sense of vulnerability and determination to her role as DG, while McDonough's portrayal of the Tin Man is both stoic and heartbreaking. Cumming is a delight as Glitch, injecting humor and heart into his performance.

In addition to the core cast, the show features a number of notable guest stars. Richard Dreyfuss makes a memorable appearance as the former ruler of the O.Z., and other familiar faces include Blu Mankuma, Gwynyth Walsh, and Anna Galvin.

Overall, Tin Man is an entertaining and engaging sci-fi/fantasy adventure that is sure to appeal to fans of The Wizard of Oz and similar stories. The show's imaginative world-building and compelling characters make it a standout in the genre.
