Ep 5. Plastique

In The Flash (2014) season 1 episode 5, titled "Plastique," Team Flash is introduced to a new meta-human named Bette Sans Souci, also known as Plastique. Bette has the ability to turn any object she touches into a bomb, which explodes upon her command. The episode begins with Bette being chased by General Eiling and his military men who are after her because of the explosive capabilities she possesses.

Barry Allen, also known as The Flash, comes across Bette and is able to save her from General Eiling's men. Barry takes her back to S.T.A.R. Labs, where Dr. Wells and the team begin to analyze her abilities and try to find a way to help her control them.

As the team works on a way to help Bette, they discover that she was previously in the military and had been injected with a serum that gave her the ability to create explosive energy. However, the serum also caused her to go through bouts of intense anger and mood swings, which made it difficult for her to control her powers.

Meanwhile, Iris and Eddie's relationship becomes strained as Eddie continues to hide the fact that he is investigating Barry's disappearance during the particle accelerator explosion a year ago. Joe also becomes suspicious of Eddie's motives and starts to investigate him.

General Eiling gets wind of Bette being at S.T.A.R. Labs and puts a plan in motion to retrieve her and use her abilities for the military. While Bette is in the care of Team Flash, she starts to see them as her friends and is reluctant to leave them.

As the episode progresses, Bette becomes more and more unstable, and it becomes clear that she is a danger to herself and everyone around her. Barry is consumed with trying to help her, but ultimately, he realizes that he cannot save everyone and that sometimes people have to make their own choices and deal with the consequences.

The episode culminates with a dramatic showdown between Team Flash, General Eiling's military men, and Bette, who has become uncontrollably explosive. Barry is ultimately able to save the day but at a great cost.

"Plastique" is a thrilling episode that highlights the dangers of unchecked power and the importance of making your own choices. The episode also sets up future plotlines, particularly with General Eiling and his involvement with meta-humans.
