After the devastating news that Callie's application to UCSD has been put on hold due to a glitch in the system, her and her mothers' focus turns to securing scholarships and other ways to make sure she can afford to attend the school. But Callie struggles with her own feelings of inadequacy and the overwhelming pressure to succeed. Meanwhile, Mariana is still dealing with the aftermath of Nick's breakdown and begins to feel invisible and ignored by her loved ones. When she makes a drastic decision, it sets off a chain of events that threatens to tear the family apart. Elsewhere, Jude grapples with a personal crisis of his own and seeks solace from an unexpected source. As tensions rise and secrets are revealed, the Adams-Fosters must come together to support one another and navigate the challenges of growing up in a complicated world.
