It's time for Spring Break on The Goldbergs, and the gang is headed to Florida for some fun in the sun - 80s style! Beverly is thrilled to be able to chaperone the trip and relive her own wild Spring Break memories, but Murray is less than thrilled about being left alone in the house with only Adam for company.
Once they arrive in Florida, the kids are excited to hit the beach and soak up some rays, but things take a turn for the worse when they discover that the area they're staying in is a bit of a dump. There's no air conditioning, the pool is gross, and the local restaurants aren't exactly up to par. To make matters worse, Erica's ex-boyfriend Drew shows up with his new girlfriend, and she can't seem to escape him no matter where she goes.
But despite the less-than-ideal conditions, the gang is determined to have a good time. They hit up the local arcade, go on some wild rides, and even try their hand at some watersports. Meanwhile, back in Jenkintown, Murray and Adam are having their own Spring Break adventure - trying to figure out how to fix the air conditioning and survive without Beverly's constant hovering.
As the week comes to a close, the kids prepare to leave Florida with memories they'll never forget. Erica finally stands up to Drew and tells him she's moved on, while Adam learns some valuable lessons about responsibility and accountability. And even though Murray is glad to have his house and his peace and quiet back, he can't deny that he missed being with his family and sharing in their adventures.
Overall, "MTV Spring Break" is a fun and nostalgic episode that brings the 80s to life in all its neon-colored, hair-sprayed glory. It's a reminder that sometimes the best memories are made in the most unexpected places, and that family is always there to share in the highs and lows of life.
