Ep 6. Not Fake

Dr. Shaun Murphy continues to make a name for himself as one of the most brilliant minds at St. Bonaventure Hospital, but in season 1 episode 6, titled "Not Fake," he must also navigate a delicate social situation.

After a middle-aged father of four, Jared, arrives at the hospital in critical condition, Dr. Murphy quickly realizes that there may be more to the case than meets the eye. As Dr. Murphy tries to keep Jared alive, he also works to build a relationship with Trisha and her family. Along the way, he confronts his own social deficits and learns some important lessons about communication, empathy, and human interaction.

The episode features standout performances from Freddie Highmore, who plays Dr. Murphy, as well as co-stars Antonia Thomas and Richard Schiff. The direction by Larry Teng and the writing by David Shore continue to be top-notch, exploring themes of family, love, and the nature of reality in a highly compelling way.
