The Great British Baking Show is back for its first season, and things are heating up in the kitchen. In episode 2, entitled "Biscuits," the 12 remaining contestants are put to the test as they attempt to bake three different types of biscuits.

First up is the signature challenge, in which the bakers must create their own take on a traditional British biscuit. From chocolate digestives to shortbread fingers, the bakers pull out all the stops in an effort to impress the judges with their unique flavor combinations and creative presentation.

Next, it's on to the technical challenge, where the bakers are given a set of vague instructions and limited ingredients to make a classic British biscuit. With no recipe to follow, the bakers must rely on their knowledge of baking techniques and their intuition to create a perfect batch of the mystery biscuit.

Finally, the showstopper challenge brings the heat as the bakers must create a biscuit structure that is both visually stunning and delicious. From gingerbread houses to biscuit towers, the bakers demonstrate their skills in architectural baking as they try to impress the judges with their remarkable creations.

Throughout the show, the judges give their expert opinions on the bakers' creations, offering constructive criticism and praise as they see fit. Meanwhile, hosts Sue and Mel keep the bakers on their toes with their hilarious banter and quirky challenges.

With only 11 bakers remaining after this episode, the competition is heating up and the pressure is on. Who will rise to the top and who will crumble under the stress? Tune in to find out!
