Ep 4. Peggy's Day Out

Peggy's Day Out is the fourth episode of The Kids are Alright's first season. The show is set during the 1970s, and it portrays the lives of the Cleary family, consisting of the parents and their eight children.

In this episode, Peggy, the youngest Cleary child, who is only six years old, goes on an adventure on her own by sneaking out of the house when no one is looking. Peggy manages to walk to the nearby park where she creates a new friend, a little boy named Skip. Together, Peggy and Skip embark on a journey to explore new places and learn new things.

However, things take a turn when Peggy realizes how lost she is, and she has no idea how to make it back home. Meanwhile, the rest of the Cleary family is desperately trying to find her, and they soon realize that Peggy is not at home. They begin to search for her frantically.

As Peggy continues her exploration with Skip, she stumbles upon a group of hippies and decides to join them in their protest. The hippies teach Peggy how to chant for their cause, and she becomes infatuated with their way of life. Peggy's attitude about life is heavily influenced by the hippies, and she sets out to change her own family's lifestyle.

The family and neighbors continue to search for Peggy and are finally alerted to her whereabouts by a kind-hearted stranger who saw Peggy and Skip in the park. They eventually find Peggy at a local demonstration, and the whole family is relieved to have her back home safe and sound.

Despite Peggy's misadventure, the Clearys learn that their daughter has grown in her way of thinking and her level of confidence. Peggy's Day Out shows that the Clearys are a functional, loving family that is willing to support each other, and the show takes a light-hearted approach to real issues of the time.
