Ep 3. Truth Safari

After being released from prison and returning to his hometown of Brooklyn, Tray (played by Tracy Morgan) finds himself struggling to adapt to a drastically changed neighborhood. In The Last O.G. season 1 episode 3, titled "Truth Safari," Tray decides to take a walk through his old stomping grounds with his former girlfriend's son, Shahzad (played by Dante Hoagland), to show him the ropes. On their journey, Tray tries to impart some important life lessons on the young man, but finds that Brooklyn has changed even more than he thought.

But when Tray's attention is focused on Shahzad, Bobby begins to feel neglected and starts to spiral out of control.

As the episode progresses, Tray and Shahzad's journey through Brooklyn turns into a learning experience for both of them. Tray realizes that, despite his past mistakes and the changes that have taken place in the neighborhood, there is still a lot to love about his hometown. And Shahzad, though initially resistant to Tray's advice, begins to see the value in his wisdom as they encounter new challenges together.

Overall, "Truth Safari" is a character-driven episode that offers plenty of laughs and heartwarming moments. Tracy Morgan shines as the street-wise Tray, while Dante Hoagland brings a youthful energy and innocence to the role of Shahzad. The episode's themes of redemption, self-discovery, and the power of community make it a standout installment in an already impressive first season of the show.
