The Littlest Hobo is a Canadian television series that aired from 1963 to 1965. The show revolves around a stray German Shepherd who travels from town to town, helping people in need and making friends along the way. In season 5 episode 17, entitled "Applejack", the Littlest Hobo finds himself in a small farming community in the heartland of America.

The episode begins with the Littlest Hobo running through the fields, chasing after a group of cows. As he jumps over a fence, he lands in the middle of an orchard. As he runs through the rows of apple trees, he notices that one of the trees has a broken branch. As he investigates further, he sees that the branch is loaded with ripe apples.

The Littlest Hobo knows that the farmer who owns the orchard is going to be very upset when he sees the damage to his trees. He decides that he needs to find a way to help the farmer before he gets into trouble.

As he makes his way into the nearby town, he sees a group of boys playing baseball. One of the boys, named Tommy, hits a home run and the ball ends up in the middle of the street. As he goes to retrieve the ball, he sees the Littlest Hobo sitting on the sidewalk watching him.

Tommy is surprised to see a dog in town and is even more surprised when the Littlest Hobo picks up the ball with his mouth and tosses it back to him. Tommy is impressed by the dog's skills and decides to follow him around town.

As they walk, the Littlest Hobo hears sirens in the distance. Tommy explains that the volunteer fire department is having a fundraiser that day. They are selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a ride on the fire engine. The Littlest Hobo sees that one of the firefighters is struggling to sell tickets to the townspeople. He knows that he has to help.

Using his natural charm and impressive skills, the Littlest Hobo convinces everyone in town to buy a raffle ticket. In no time at all, the firefighter has sold all his tickets and thanks the Littlest Hobo for his help.

Feeling proud of his accomplishments, the Littlest Hobo continues on his journey. As he walks down the street, he hears a commotion coming from the local diner. Peeking his head inside, he sees that the cook has burned himself and is unable to finish cooking the food. The Littlest Hobo sees an opportunity to help and runs back to the orchard to grab some apples.

Returning to the diner, he places the apples on the counter and watches as the cook uses them to make a delicious apple dessert. The customers are so impressed with the dish that they ask the cook to add it to the menu permanently.

As the day comes to an end, the Littlest Hobo makes his way back to the orchard to rest. He sees that the farmer has arrived and is inspecting his trees. As he approaches, the farmer tries to shoo him away, thinking that he has caused the damage to the trees.

But to his surprise, the farmer sees the apples that the Littlest Hobo has left behind. He realizes that the dog has taken the time to help him out and is grateful for his help.

As the sun sets, the Littlest Hobo heads off into the night, ready for his next adventure. He knows that there are always people in need of help, and he is ready and willing to assist them.
