Whistler is a gripping and suspenseful drama series that aired on CTV and captured the hearts of viewers from 2006 until 2007. The show is set in a beautiful and scenic location, Whistler, British Columbia, and follows the lives of a group of young adults who come together to compete in an extreme skiing and snowboarding event.

At the heart of the show is the family of Davey and Carrie Winters, who own and operate a high-end hotel in Whistler catering to the wealthy and famous. Davey is a former professional snowboarder who has retired to run the hotel, while his wife Carrie is a former Olympic skier who is now the hotel’s general manager. Together with their teenage daughter Sophie, they are the cornerstone of the Whistler community and the glue that holds the show together.

The main character of the show is Beck McKaye, played by Jesse Moss. Beck is an up-and-coming skier who has come to Whistler to compete in the titular event, but he is also a man with a dark past. As the series progresses, we learn more about Beck’s backstory and the events that have brought him to Whistler. Moss delivers a nuanced and convincing performance as Beck, bringing depth and complexity to the character.

One of the unique aspects of Whistler is the way it seamlessly blends together action and drama. The show features plenty of thrilling ski and snowboarding sequences, shot on location in Whistler, that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. But it also has a strong and compelling storyline that explores the relationships between the characters and the secrets that they are all keeping. From love triangles to family drama, there is always something happening in Whistler.

Another standout element of the show is its diversity. The cast is made up of actors from a variety of backgrounds and cultures, and the show takes the time to explore the experiences of characters who are marginalized or face prejudice. This inclusivity is refreshing and gives the show a more realistic and relatable tone.

Whistler also boasts a strong supporting cast, including the likes of Amanda Crew, Adam J. Harrington, and David Paetkau. Each of these actors brings their own unique energy to the show and helps to flesh out the world of Whistler. The show also features guest appearances by Canadian stars such as Sarah Chalke and Nicholas Lea.

Beyond the drama, Whistler also has a compelling mystery element that runs throughout the series. Early on in the show, a tragic accident occurs that sets off a series of events that will keep viewers guessing until the very end. As the characters uncover more information about what really happened that day, they begin to realize that nothing in Whistler is quite what it seems.

Overall, Whistler is a fantastic and highly-entertaining show that will appeal to fans of both drama and action. It’s a well-crafted series with strong performances, a gripping plot, and stunning cinematography. If you haven’t had a chance to watch Whistler yet, it’s definitely worth checking out.
