Ep 1. Pilot

In the pilot episode of The Middle, we are introduced to the Heck family: Frankie, her husband Mike, and their three children, Axl, Sue, and Brick. At work, Frankie struggles to sell cars to uninterested customers, while Mike tries to keep his employees in line. After work, Frankie decides to take Sue to the mall to buy her some clothes in the hopes of boosting her confidence. However, their trip turns into a disaster when they realize they left their car keys at home and have to take the bus back.

Meanwhile, Axl gets into a fight with his football coach and is forced to quit the team. He spends the rest of the day moping around the house, much to Frankie's annoyance. Brick, on the other hand, is excited about starting a new school year and spends his time burying his face in a book.

At the end of the day, the family comes together for dinner. Despite all the challenges they faced, they are able to laugh and bond over their shared experiences. It's clear that the Heck family may not be perfect, but they love each other and are determined to make it work.
