In The Practice season 3, episode 2 titled "Reasons to Believe", the attorneys at the law firm of Robert Donnell (Dylan McDermott) are thrown into an intense case involving a religious group. The group, called The Church of the Believers, is accused of kidnapping a young boy from his parents and indoctrinating him into their beliefs.

The case becomes even more complicated when the boy, now a teenager, refuses to testify against the church. The team at Donnell, Young, Dole & Frutt must dig deep to uncover the truth behind the boy's allegiance to the church and the possible brainwashing techniques used by their leaders.

Meanwhile, attorney Ellenor Frutt (Camryn Manheim) struggles with a personal crisis as her brother is arrested for robbery. She must balance her loyalty to her family with her commitment to her profession.

As tensions rise in the Believers case, the defense team is forced to confront their own beliefs and biases. Attorney Eugene Young (Steve Harris) finds himself questioning his own Catholic faith when his priest is called in as a witness for the prosecution.

The episode raises important questions about the power of religious institutions and the rights of children within those institutions. It also explores the complex relationships between family, religion, and the law.

As always, The Practice delivers gripping courtroom drama with complex characters and thought-provoking themes. "Reasons to Believe" is a standout episode in the series and a must-watch for fans of legal dramas.
