This Victory Alone is Not the Change We Seek is the eighth episode of season one of The Red Line. In this episode, tensions continue to rise between the police department and the community in the wake of the shooting of Officer Tia Young. Daniel Calder is confronted with his actions from the night of the shooting and must make a difficult decision about his future as a police officer.

Meanwhile, Jira and Ian continue to work on their documentary about the shooting and its aftermath. They interview community members and activists, hoping to shed light on the systemic issues that led to the shooting. However, their efforts are met with resistance from some members of the police department who want to control the narrative.

As KJ works to build her case against Paul Evans, she must also confront her own biases and privilege as a white woman.
