The Saddle Club television show is based on the hit young adult's book series written by Bonnie Bryant. The three young heroines; Carole Hanson, Stevie Lake, and Lisa Atwood backgrounds are as different as night and day, and day and night. But the three find one thing in common, their love for horses and English riding. While riding their prized horses they come across many challenges in life together; dealing with not so friendly girls like rich uppity fellow rider Victoria, riding difficulties, sibling rivalry, dating, helping introduce new life into the world, and just being young girls together. The also face harsh realities with the everyday raising of horses such as animal cruelty and death. Of course, the girls would rather be in the barns of Pine Hollow Stables than anywhere else. But with Carole still recovering from being a military daughter and losing her mother to cancer, Lisa just getting in the saddle and dealing with her younger sister Melanie, and Stevie being the only girl among a family of boys, the group has a lot of outside the fence problems to deal with. But the girls find help in the barn aisles of Pine Hollow as Max Regnery helps them with their riding, Doc Judy helps with their horses, and Mrs. Reg helps them with every other problem they come across. The child friendly show offers lessons in teamwork and friendship as the young girls travel their way through the awkward stage between child and adult. The cast does perform a series of songs on the show which have become big hits including their song Hello World, which acts as the television shows theme song. There is a disturbance in characters as season one and two is aired with the same cast but when the series was cancelled and then renewed due to popular demand, season three hosts the same characters but different actors as the original group was considered too old to still play the roles.
