Episode 6 of the first season of 'This Country' is titled 'GNVQ'. This episode revolves around Kerry and Kurtan's efforts to obtain GNVQ certifications. Both of them are keen on availing themselves of the vocational educational opportunity. GNVQ stands for General National Vocational Qualifications, wherein students learn through practical training in certain vocations. Kerry and Kurtan believe that GNVQ will open up job opportunities for them in the future.

The episode begins with a series of confessions from Kerry, who is recording her vlog on her phone. She tells the audience how she fell asleep and woke up to find that her brother Kurtan has arrived. He is wearing his tracksuit and is all set to embark on his new venture. Kerry is not too happy about staring a GNVQ course, but she is convinced by Kurtan to enroll in it. The two siblings then attend a GNVQ induction day, where the lecturers explain to them the various modules they'll have to complete to get the certification.

Kurtan and Kerry soon realize that the modules are not something they are interested in, and they decide to skip class and hang out in the park. In the park, they meet a man called Steve, who is known for selling cheap cigarettes. Kerry and Kurtan are initially hesitant to buy from him, but they soon give in to temptation. They smoke and chat with Steve, discussing their futures. Steve suggests that they should perhaps start a business selling knock-off goods.

Kerry and Kurtan are excited about this idea and start imagining their future in business. They visit a market to assess their competition and get some inspiration. They come across a woman selling mobile phone covers, and Kurtan believes they can do better. They decide to start a business selling personalized mobile phone covers with their own designs. They invest their savings in buying a springboard printing machine to make the covers.

As they wait for the machine to arrive, Kerry and Kurtan work on their designs. They involve their dad in the process, and he comes up with some hilarious ideas. Meanwhile, they still have to attend their GNVQ classes, and they decide to go back and attend them properly. This is when they realize that they have misunderstood the modules and that they are, in fact, quite interesting. They are intrigued by the practical assignments they have to complete and start taking the classes seriously.

Their interest in GNVQ takes a backseat when the printing machine arrives, and they start working on their covers. They quickly realize that the machine has a mind of its own and that it's not as easy as they thought it would be. However, they are determined to carry on, and they get better with practice. They hold their official launch party to showcase their products, but things don't go quite as planned. They sell only a few covers, and they end up giving most of them away for free.

Kerry and Kurtan are disappointed at the failed launch, but they don't give up. They decide to continue with their business and improve their product. Meanwhile, they also start focusing on their GNVQ assignments and do well in them. They are awarded their certifications, and they feel proud of their achievements. The episode ends with Kerry recording her vlog, talking about how the GNVQ experience taught them important lessons about hard work and perseverance.

In conclusion, episode 6 of This Country is a heartwarming and hilarious exploration of the endeavours of two young individuals, as they navigate potential career opportunities and school. It showcases the challenges they face, the dreams they build and how they learn from their experiences. The episode is a relatable and entertaining watch for anyone who has struggled with finding their path in life.
