Three Stooges Collection 1940-1942
- 1 Season
The Three Stooges Collection 1940-1942, produced by Sony, are 23 comedy shorts completed by Moe Howard, Curly Howard, and Larry Fine. Popular shorts of note include, “A Plumbing We Will Go”, “Dutiful But Dumb”, and "Three Smart Saps." The Three Stooges became popular beginning in the 1930s for Columbia Pictures. In essence, Moe, Larry, and Curly are working in a number of different positions in each comedy short such as plumbers, soldiers, fish salesman, golfers, beer delivery drivers, and hobos. A typical episode finds the stooges attempting to make a living, yet ultimately finding their way into a predicament. Moe, the head stooge, pushes his domineering personality on Larry and Curly. There is a lot of slapping, eye poking, and head knocking throughout the episodes. In many episodes, the stooges, in a backwards manner, try their hardest to assist someone in their time of need. Of note, one will find that there are a number of actors that got their start in the stooges short films, including Lucille Ball.
