As a powerful storm approaches Thundera, a group of cat-like creatures known as the ThunderCats, led by their king Claudus, scramble to complete their repairs on their fortress. Meanwhile, a young ThunderCat named Lion-O is eager to prove himself as a warrior, but is constantly underestimated by his brother Tygra, who is a skilled inventor.

During the storm, a group of mutants led by the evil Slithe launch an attack on the ThunderCats' fortress, seeking to steal the Eye of Thundera, a powerful artifact that can give its wielder immense power. The ThunderCats desperately fight off the mutants, but are ultimately forced to abandon the fortress and retreat to the forests.

As they make their way through the wilderness, the ThunderCats encounter various dangerous creatures, including giant spiders and a massive creature known as the Ramlak. Amidst the chaos, Lion-O begins to experience strange visions and dreams, which seem to be connected to the Eye of Thundera.
