In ThunderCats (1985) season 2 episode 20 titled "Side Swipe," the ThunderCats must face a new enemy as the Mutants use an ancient weapon to create a deadly force field around Cat's Lair. As the ThunderCats journey through a dangerous cave system, they encounter a group of lizard-like creatures known as the Reptilians. The ThunderCats must use all of their skills to fight off the Reptilians and continue their search for the weapon.
As Pumyra continues her search, she reaches a dead end and is forced to turn back. However, she is ambushed by the Mutants and taken prisoner. When Lion-O, Panthro, and Cheetara find out, they must quickly come up with a plan to rescue their friend and stop the Mutants from using the weapon to destroy Cat's Lair.
With the help of the friendly Snarfs, the ThunderCats are able to rescue Pumyra and discover the location of the weapon. They soon realize that the only way to shut it down is to destroy the source of its energy, a powerful crystal that is guarded by the Mutants.
In an epic battle, the ThunderCats fight off the Mutants and destroy the crystal, causing the force field to collapse and saving Cat's Lair. However, the Reptilians are still out there, and it is clear that they will continue to be a dangerous threat to the ThunderCats.
